List of Raw Foods

Below is a list of raw foods. Aside from the obvious, there are some items that seem to be raw, but in all actuality aren't!

All fresh fruits and vegetables

sprouts

pecans

cashews

peanuts (but stay away from peanuts as they are actually a legume and very mucus forming)

hazelnut

walnuts

pinenuts

the nuts to look out for as not raw are almonds (which are now pasteurized and therefore not raw) and brazil nuts.

Seeds are raw, make sure they say 'raw' and are not toasted with salt! (same with nuts...always check to make sure it says "raw")

Young coconuts

Dates (good organic dates from The Date People or Flying Disc Ranch), some seaweeds can be raw-contact the manufacturer.

Olives - You may want to consume some raw olives.   Raw olives are hard to find. The best raw olives are sun dried raw olives, that have not been preserved with salt.  Most olives are preserved with salt.  Most canned olives are cooked in the canning process.   Most olives are packed in a vinegar or lactic acid brine, which I do not recommend.

Raw Honey

Frozen Fruits (still better fresh, of course!)

Not Raw

Almonds

Brazil Nuts

Nama Shoyu and Braggs Liquid Aminos

Maple Syrup

Agave Nectar

 Wine

 Apple Cider Vinegar

 Frozen Vegetables

Hanspreet uses some of these items in her foods as flavor enhancers, but uses them minimally.  If you want to adhere to a STRICTLY raw diet, then the personal chef services might be for you!
