We take in nutrients from our food, the body utilizes those nutrients and then the body rids itself of the waste-matter;  Solid, liquid.  Ideally we take in foods that give us what we need.  Proper foods that are fresh, living and full of life-affirming goodness.  Many times we take in foods devoid of these qualities and so our bodies suffer.

Likewise in life we have experiences; Many experiences -from the moment we are born into our precious bodies until the day we leave our physical forms.  Ideally in life we process our experiences, learn from them what we can and then eliminate that which is not needed; Eliminate that which does not serve our highest purpose.   We store these past experiences in our unconscious and subconscious minds where they can overflow into our daily lives and our conscious living resulting in negative self image, negative patterns of behavior or thought.

We will explore ways to rid ourselves of past negativity and trauma in a future newsletter.  For now, we are going to focus on changing our everyday thinking habits.

Positive affirmation has been around for thousands of years and is nothing new.  Words increase in power through repetition and when those words are positive they increase at an even more rapid rate. Why? Because Life, which is found in everything, from you to me to the chair you sit on to the air you breathe began with thought.  Nothing exists that did not first begin with a thought.  And Life wants nothing more than to advance.  It is an intelligent substance.

When you think or speak or act positively, Life becomes interested in you.  When you begin to make it a habit out of something positive, Life starts to really become interested and hangs around more, finding faster ways to help you advance as It wants nothing more than to see you grow!

Here is  a quick exercise in positive affirmation or mantra;

Think of something you think or say to yourself that is negative or keeps you down in some way...

...do you have it yet?  It can be something from this morning or something from your childhood that has been carried all these years.  You decide.

Here is my example:  I am not good enough.

Let's say I have had this thought for 20-sum years.  'I am not good enough.'  My mind my repeat these words thousands of times through-out the day and the problem with this is I am allowing my mind to control the situation and when I repeat this mantra thousands of times, I begin to shrink a little bit and believe it.

My new mantra to replace the old one will be "I am good enough now".  I will use this mantra in the other mantra place whenever the old mantra tries to sneak in.  At first it will seem like you are CONSTANTLY having to replace the new mantra!  And believe me, the old one will be annoyed and try very hard to push it's way into the front of your mind, but you must not let it.  As soon as the thought begins to enter... push it aside with your new positive mantra.

"I am not..." *** "I am good enough NOW"

"But, I ..."  "I am good enough NOW"

"I am good enough now. I am good enough now"

The first few days are the most challenging.  But the old mantra sees the new mantra for what it is -a jack-hammer and it will learn to stay away.  In a matter of days or weeks, your new mantra will be the reigning champion and the old mantra will cease to exist. It is worth the effort.  Then you can move onto another negative pattern of thought and begin to replace one at a time until your mind is new and fresh and focused on all things positive.

When you are focused on the positive, you will find that more and more good things happen to you.  Because cause and effect are real.  A like cause produces a like effect.  Focus on the negative and that is what you'll get.  It is your decision!

All thing can be ours, if only we stand up and claim them!

Try it.  I challenge you.  Begin now.

In Peace,
Kirsten
